Half a year to go to the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen

That is what is waiting only six months from now when the 2015 World Archery Championships takes place in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark from 26 July to 2 August.

And with the reigning World Champion in recurve Maja JAGER and reigning World Champions in men’s team compound Martin DAMSBO, Patrick LAURSEN, and Stephan HANSEN the expectations are high for the forthcoming championships on home soil.

Rolf LIND, President of Archery Denmark: “I am looking forward to welcoming the world’s best archers in Denmark and the heart of our capital, Copenhagen. I truly dream of more World Championships medals to our Danish archers on home soil. But I also hope that everyone, archers, officials, and fans, will think back on the World Championships in Denmark as something like never before.”

Lars LUNDOV, President of Sport Event Denmark: “The archery competition at the London Olympics was some of the most spectacular and iconic I have ever experienced at an Olympic Games. In exactly six months we get the chance to show archery in a Danish setting at the World Championships in front of the Danish parliament at Christiansborg Slotsplads. This location was in 2014 the arena for the IAAF World Half Marathon. I am looking forward this great location again will be the surrounding of a huge international sport event.”

Lars VALLENTIN, Director for sport events in Wonderful Copenhagen: “We have proud traditions with top sport events at Christiansborg Slotsplads, where the UCI Road Race World Championship 2011, the IAAF World Half Marathon 2014, and KMD Copenhagen Ironman took place with success. Now the time has come to the World Archery Championships as we are looking forward to presenting for the spectators at the stands and the international TV-viewers. With the world’s best archers shooting for gold, glory and a spot to the 2016 Rio Olympics, I am sure Copenhagen has another successful event in our hands.”
