USA Archery hiring national women’s head coach

USA Archery has announced it is hiring a women’s national head coach to capitalise on the success the team has seen internationally in recent years and increase focus on female high performance programmes.

KiSik Lee, following the USA’s second consecutive men’s team silver at the Olympics, has signed a contract extension through 2020 – and will increase his focus on the men’s programme.

The new position of women’s head coach – based at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence in Chula Vista, California – will lead training programmes for the women’s international and national teams, resident athletes and junior dream teams, and will have a focus on preparing elite female athletes for competitive success at the international level.

The successful candidate will coach both domestically and abroad, work with Coach Lee, USA Archery staff and Athlete Advisory Council members on development of high performance plans.

Applicants will have extensive experience developing archers to an elite level, excellent communication and collaboration skills and a proven ability to manage teams and athletes effectively.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to enhance our coaching staff,” said USA Archery CEO Denise Parker. “We have seen great progress with our teams on the international level and we believe this will provide an added focus to the women’s programme to ensure they are getting exactly what they need to succeed in 2020 and beyond.”
