Algeria hosts 1st judge seminar with African Youth Games

Algeria’s archery federation, with the support of World Archery Africa, organised its first judging seminar in July 2018.

The level one seminar took place in Blida on 12-16 July, ahead of the archery competitions at the African Youth Games and Youth Olympic qualifier, which were held in Algiers the following week.

Twenty-eight candidate judges attended the course and 23 passed the final test.

The top nine participants were invited to officiate at the African Youth Games. The remainder worked as volunteers in scoring, field management and logistics, gaining a variety of experience in tournament organisation.

International judges Ahmed Roushdy and Charmaine Ho led the event. Technical delegate Ahmed Koura delivered the seminar.

The archery competition at the 2018 African Youth Games took place on 18-21 July in Algiers, Algeria.
