Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2009

Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2009 Lausanne – 6 May 2008   The 5th edition of AYOF will be held in Sydney, Australia on 14-18 January 2009. It will welcome 2,500 athletes and team officials from over 20 countries. There will be 22 sports on the programme, including archery.   The AYOF seeks to provide future Olympic athletes with an environment reminiscent of an Olympic Games and promote Olympic ideals of friendship, solidarity and fair play. The event has the patronage of the IOC. It will feature some of the best athletes from around the world competing in many of the venues which hosted sports at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.   The archery venue will be the Archery Centre situated in the Sydney Olympic Park. There will be 18 boys and 18 girls and 24 team officials from 6 invited nations: Australia, China, Great Britain, Korea, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei. There will be a Recurve Individual event as well as a Team event both for Men and Women. The competition will be conducted in accordance with FITA rules.
