1 décembre 2008 - Mon expérience au Centre de Tir à l'Arc du Moyen-Orient (anglais)

My experience at the Middle East Archery Centre Kimberley (CAN) – 1 December 2008   Mr. Vladimir KOPECKY is an archery coach in Canada. Thanks to a financial support from the Coaching Association of Canada, he attended the Coach Professional Development Programme - Level 3 Clinic at the Middle East Archery Centre in Cairo, Egypt, under the Korean Master Coach MUN Baek Woon’s mentorship. He has written to FITA about this experience.   “My name is Vladimir KOPECKY, and I'm an archery coach in Kimberley, British Columbia (Canada). Thanks to a financial support from the Coaching Association of Canada, I was able to attend the Coach Professional Development Programme - Level 3 Clinic in Cairo, Egypt, under the Korean Master Coach MUN Baek Woon’s mentorship. The time spent with a Korean Instructor was extremely valuable to me.”   “Korea is the No. 1 country in the world in archery, and I believe their unique approach in coaching is one of the reasons for this success. The rewarding system and their typical oriental discipline have a lot to do with their success as well. Their insistence on perfectly tune mind, body and equipment is on a higher level than how much we ask our athletes for. Their mind games is always visible—very little of our philosophy "be always positive with athletes". But when they do respond positively, it is a "Christmas" for archers—it really means something! There are some different ways of thinking which I don't recommend to adopt in Canada—for example they don't allow archers to play any other sports (cross training) in fear of injuries.”   “I'm looking forwards to sharing my new knowledge with other High Performance Coaches in Canada trough meetings or conferences, and I'm available to travel to any places. I'm also looking forward to continue to broaden my knowledge in similar clinics as the one of Cairo, if Coach Professional Development Programme would support me. It is a hard work to go from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm every day, but as long as I'm doing it for archery which I love, I will do it!”   “Thank you very much for the opportunity!”   Sincerely,   Vladimir KOPECKY Dedicated Coach for over 40 years
