Chris MARSH joins World Archery as Events Manager

Chris MARSH was born in the English county of Shropshire, where William Penny BROOKES’ Wenlock Olympian Games inspired Baron Pierre DE COUBERTIN to establish the modern Olympic Games in the 19th century.   He has been a competitive archer for more than 20 years. A former British champion and record holder, Chris MARSH has competed from club to world championship level across five continents, representing both Great Britain and Switzerland, and has served in a variety of capacities – from volunteer to team manager – at a large number of national and international sporting events. In 2004, Chris MARSH coached the British Paralympic Archery team in Athens, where they won two gold medals and finished top of the medals table.   A graduate in Marketing and Economics, Chris MARSH used to live and work in Luzern, Switzerland, as Regional Sales Director managing Eastern Europe for EF International Language Schools, before joining LOCOG July 2009.  Chris MARSH, now fully rested after a very successful Olympic Games, said he was really delighted to be joining the World Archery Team and excited to be working in the Events Team, contributing  in developing and raising the profile of archery globally.   Chris MARSH will be part of World Archery’s Event Team, working closely with Juan Carlos HOLGADO, implementing the plan and design of the competition venue, Field of Play, and assist with TV event production throughout World Archery’s tournament calendar. In addition, Chris MARSH will be focusing on supporting Local Organising Committees with their event delivery, develop the Event Organisers Manual and other event technical documents and assist in the coordination and presentation of the Organisers Event Seminars.   World Archery Communication
