Michel ADNET surrounded by the French team medallists in Val d'Isere  A great friend of archery is gone. Michel ADNET passed away aged 67 during the night from 2 to 3 March. The Vice-President of the French Archery Federation, Michel ADNET was very ill and fought until the end.   He was the organiser of the 1994 World Field Championships in Vertus, and of the most recent World Field Championships in Val d’Isere. He was also the founder of the “five nations field archery tour”. Michel ADNET recently attended the French national bare-bow championship in Suippes on 23 a-24 February, where the FFTA President Philippe BOUCLET paid him a tribute.
World Archery was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Michel ADNET and sends its sincere condolences to his family and friends.
“I was very sad to learn of the passing of Michel ADNET”, declared the World Archery Secretary General Tom DIELEN. “Michel was an example for all volunteers. I met him at the Vertus World Championships, which was my first contact with the World Archery Federation. Thanks to Michel’s vision, these championships are still considered to be among the best field world championships to have ever been held. Despite his illness, Michel wanted to show us all his talent as field archery architect, and the unanimous appreciation of the participants demonstrated the value of his contribution to field archery. Thank you Michel.”   The funeral will take place on Wednesday 6 March at 2pm, in Chalons en Champagne. Michel’s ashes will be then scattered on the Mont-Aimé in Vertus, site of the field archery competition.   Source: FFTA Photo : JD Gitton/FFTA  Edited by World Archery Communication
