PAVLIK upsets FORSBERG at Nottwil para Euros; recurve finals live online tomorrow

Drawn at 115-all after 12 arrows, Marcel PAVLIK (SVK) left no room for Finnish FORSBERG to make a mistake. He shot a clean last three arrows to take his first international individual podium.

Just a match before, in a second-go of the 2008 Beijing Paralympic final, Jon STUBBS repeated his win over Italy’s Alberto SIMONELLI. The 50-metre ranking round world record holder from Great Britain wasn’t the STUBBS wasn’t the only world champ to beat an Italian archer to bronze.

Burcu DAG, from Turkey, handed Eleonora SARTORI her third fourth place finish of the day (after the team and mixed team) to take third in compound women’s open.

Great Britain had a clean sweep of the women’s W1 podium. Jean Pierre ANTONIOS (FIN) won men’s W1 gold and Sweden’s Zandra REPPE’s compound women’s win was her first podium since the para worlds in Turin.

Compound team golds went to Italy, Germany and Turkey.
