French recurve team for Copenhagen worlds announced

Right after the first World Cup event of the season ended in Shanghai, the FFTA revealed its recurve team for the second World Cup stage in Antalya, the European Games in Baku and the World Championships in Copenhagen.

Twenty-five year old Pierre Plihon, who had made an excellent season in 2014, finishing fifth in the world, did not participate in the first World Cup stage in Shanghai. The two most experienced archers of this selection are Berengere Schuh, now aged 30, and Jean-Charles Valladont, 26. Lucas Daniel and Laura Ruggieri embody the future since they are both still juniors, while 20-year-old Solenne Thomas is in her first season as a senior.

Their objectives will be to win the Olympic quota at the worlds in Denmark and try to get on the podium of the European Games in Azerbaijan.

The French compound team in Antalya will consist of the same archers that traveled to Shanghai. Among them Sebastian Peineau, who successfully defended his Shanghai 2014 title last weekend, and Dominique Genet who clinched a 16th medal at a World Cup stage with bronze in the Chinese city.

The French compounders will then still have a selection test on 4/5 July to decide the final team for Copenhagen.
