Former international judge Rathin Datta passes away

Rathin served for long time in several international and national archery championships held in India and abroad. He played a key role in conducting the archery competition as Competition Manager at New Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games.

He has contributed a lot to the development of archery in many countries and was part of World Archery development and technical assistance committee. He helped many countries with the introduction of the bamboo bow construction.

World Archery Secretary General Tom Dielen said: “Rathin has played a significant role in the development of our sport and we will miss him for sure. We send our sincere condolences to his son, who is also an international judge, his entire family and the entire Indian Archery Family.”

The Archery Association of India and the whole Archery Family have lost a great lover of the sport, a sincere worker and a good friend. His services and contribution for the cause of archery will be long remembered.
