Dutch archery federation rebrands as Handboogsport Nederland

The Dutch archery federation announced it had rebranded itself as Handboogsport Nederland, in order to promote archery in a broader sense and not limited to federation-related information.

“We’ve been working on our rebranding for the last few months,” said federation communications manager Harm van der Hoff. “With the Olympics at our doorstep and a talented young Olympic team garnering valuable media attention, it was the perfect moment to reveal a modern new look.”

Handboogsport Nederland recently created a separate Facebook page for its Olympic archery team, promoting the squad’s training activities in the lead-up to Rio.

“An important switch in our communications strategy is that we’ve split our website into two separate sites. One – handboogsport.nl – is focused on promoting archery and our elite squad’s performances, the other – launching this coming Monday at handboogbond.nl – solely provides information for our members, of all disciplines,” Harm explained.

Handboogsport Nederland was formed in 1952 and affiliated to World Archery in the same year. The federation reached the 10,000 active member milestone in late 2014.
