Hans-Heinrich von Schönfels was elected president of the German Shooting and Archery Federation at the end of April, succeeding Heinz-Helmut Fischer, for a four-year term, 2017-2021.

“First and foremost, we must focus on a successful Olympic cycle after the outstanding performance at the Games in Rio,” said Hans-Heinrich.

“Elite success and a wide range of sporting programmes are the basic prerequisites for long-term and positive development of the federation. In addition, the social significance of our clubs and their offers in sport, social and cultural areas must be highlighted.”

The new president has been an active shooting sports athlete since 1984.
