Each of the pair has won the recurve women’s title at recent World Archery Indoor Championships.

Olympic silver medallist Lisa Unruh and reigning World Archery Indoor Champion Elena Richter return to the German team selected for stage one of the 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai, China.

“Although there’s no Olympics or world championships in 2018, it’s still an important season because athletes can start to secure status for Tokyo,” said head coach Oliver Haidn.

Michelle Kroppen and Katharina Bauer, 22, making her senior debut, round out the recurve women’s team with Lisa and Elena.

Florian Kahllund, Maximilian Weckmueller, Felix Wieser and Cedric Rieger were named as the recurve men’s four-athlete squad.

The team will travel with head coach Haidn, Natalia Butuzova and physiotherapist Tobias Richter.

The first stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup will take place in Shanghai, China on 23-29 April.
