Scott Starnes breaks 25-metre masters record with 590/600 points

Scott Starnes scored 590 out of a possible 600 points for the 25-metre 60-arrow ranking round at an Indiana State tournament on 30 March 2019 to set a new world record, subject to ratification, for the compound master men category.

The previous record of 583 points was set by Alessandro Biagi in Italy back in 2011.

If confirmed, the score brings the masters record within five points of the senior record. Dave Cousins shot the world record for the compound men’s division, 595 points, in 2000.

World Archery’s masters category is for archers aged 50 and over. Starnes recently finished second in the senior championship division at the 2019 Vegas Shoot.
