Armenia and Denmark go to Singapore

The European Continental Qualifier has distributed the last qualification places for the Youth Olympic Games. For the boys the places went to Armenia and Turkey and for the girls to Denmark and Slovenia. This brings the number of countries qualified for the Youth Olympic Games to 39.   Yagiz YILMAZ (TUR) led from the start to the finish. He finished 1st in the ranking round with 631 points. However, he had a difficult quarterfinal round against the Swedish Robin BERGIUS and also in the final had to go to the final set.   The 2nd place goes to Vasil SHAHNAZARYAN (ARM) who was 2nd in the Ranking and had a very good streak of good sets until the final. Michael DECKERS (BEL) is the unlucky third and would only be able to go to Singapore if the Armenian or Turkish National Olympic Committees (NOC) would refuse the place which I is unlikely to happen.   The girls competition was more open and the 2nd ranked Slovenian Brina BOZIC won the final against the 4th ranked Dane, Nynne Sophie HOLDT-CASPERSEN. HOLDT-CASPERSEN is only a cadet and had to shoot the 70m distance which she is not used to shoot as cadet.
