Indoor Challenge and Festival in Las Vegas Lausanne – 10 February 2011 Braden GELLENTHIEN (USA)    For the second year, the indoor tournament in Las Vegas on 11-13 February 2011 offers the archers two chances to win with the Archery World Cup Indoor Challenge and the World Archery Festival. Two chances to win part of about USD 165,000, one of the biggest prize money in archery!   Only the archers who participated at the Nimes tournament in January may qualify for the Archery World Cup Indoor Challenge Final that will take place on Saturday night in Las Vegas. They will qualify upon their results in Nimes and their ranking after two days in the Vegas tournament. These archers include some of the very best in the world.   In Recurve Men, the 2010 outdoor World Cup Final winner, the winner in Nimes and the defending champion of the Indoor Challenge Brady ELLISON (USA) is looking for a repeat. His main opponents are Nimes runner-up Crispin DUENAS (CAN), Michele FRANGILLI (ITA), Thomas AUBERT (FRA), Franck FISSEUX (FRA), Michael Pert (GBR) and Matija ZLENDER (SLO).   The competition in Recurve Women will be quite open between Olympic medallist Alison WILLIAMSON (GBR), her teammate Naomi FOLKARD, Marina NAYROLE (FRA), Louise LAURSEN (DEN), Valentine DE GIULI (SUI) and Brandi MANTHA (USA). Last year MANTHA beat DE GIULI in the final, while NAYROLE was 3rd.   The true finest American Compound Men archers are taking part in the Indoor Challenge: Jesse BROADWATER, Dave COUSINS, Braden GELLENTHIEN and the WILDE brothers Logan and Reo. Those travelling to challenge them include Dietmar TRILLUS (CAN), Liam GRIMWOOD (GBR), Chris WHITE (GBR), Sander DOLDERMAN (NED), Patrizio HOFER (SUI) and Morgan LUNDIN (SWE). This is true world class elite that will contend with the title holder GELLENTHIEN.   In Compound Women, Jamie VAN NATTA (USA) is always a favourite. She will compete against the current No. 1 in the world Nicky HUNT (GBR) and fellow British archers Nichola SIMPSON, Lucy HOLDERNESS and Andrea GALE. The other favourites include the title holder Gladys WILLEMS (BEL), Camilla SOEMOD (DEN) and Sandrine VANDIONANT (FRA).   All these archers will de facto compete in the World Archery Festival tournament that takes place over Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Riviera Hotel Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. They will face a wide competition from the about 1200 archers coming from the US and the rest of the world. The archers shoot 30 arrows each day. These making a perfect score over the three days will compete in an intense final on Sunday afternoon. Last year winners at the Festival were Jake KAMINSKI (USA) and Jennifer NICHOLS (USA) in recurve as well as Dietmar TRILLUS (CAN) and Kelly WARD (USA) in compound.
