World Cup Stage 3 – Quotes of the Day 3

World Cup Stage 3 – Quotes of the Day 3 Antalya – 4 June 2009   Today was the qualification day for recurve men and compound women athletes with long distances in the morning and short ones in the afternoon. Find below some quotes from the archers. We asked them the following questions: - What do you thing about the new World Archery logo? - How was your shooting today? Recurve   Cyrielle DELAMARE (FRA) I really like the colours of this new logo, it’s well made and young looking. I would even say it looks futuristic.   Berengere SCHUH (FRA) My shooting went very well this morning but I actually think I could have done even better. I had a little bit of wind at 70m. Then at 60m, I broke the new French record (339), and I think I could have passed the 340 points barrier. I am really confident in what I am currently doing.   Italian women’s team This logo is nice but not so special. The colours are ok, maybe the colours of the Olympic rings are missing. The logo is a little bit soft, we might need a stronger and a more dynamic one. It looks like a clipart in some ways.   British women’s team We would like it much better if the logo was more rounded and had the target colours on it. It’s not really dynamic. Then, if the font was in capital letters, it would already make a little difference.   Justyna MOSPINECK (POL) It’s been a hard day for me, even if my results are not so bad. It’s been tough to shoot well in the wind. All I can tell you is that I am very tired. Anyway, I think I am will be strong for the final matches tomorrow.   Charlotte BURGESS (GBR) Well, I am feeling alright. This morning I have been weak on a few things but overall I am happy of this day. The field is nice, I think there will be high scores tomorrow.   Naomi FOLKARD (GBR) I had to deal with many technical issues such as my shoulder : if my shoulder’s form is bad, I will automatically shoot bad arrows. I am not really happy with my score of today, that’s why I do not have any specific expectations for the coming days.   Korean team’s coach Except one archer, the Korean team shot well. Their scores of today are down compared to their usual ones. The wind has not been strong but complicated for them. This day has been important because it gave us the opportunity to try the windy conditions here. Maybe the wind will be there for the coming days but now we know how to deal with it.   Compound   Benoit BINON – Coach (FRA) The day has been good for our three archers. They have been very strong during the 50m. On the other hand, Dominique GENET doesn’t feel completely ready for the final rounds, François PEYRONDET is still looking for international experience and Sebastien BRASSEUR is “heading” the two others with his good performance today. To me, I think the three of them are ready for tomorrow.   Peter ELZINGA (NED) I had some troubles with the wind today, but it’s been better when we started at 70m. Then I can’t complain on my short distances, everything has been alright.   Lot of archers came to me yesterday to congratulate me for the world record I shot recently. They were all nice to me. I think some of them were expecting kind of the same high scores than I did for my world record but the difference between here and three weeks ago is the wind.
