World Cup Stage 3 – Quotes of the Team Finals

World Cup Stage 3 – Quotes of the Team Finals Antalya – 6 June 2009   Today was the team finals day at the Baki Beach in Antalya. The teams shot in the afternoon with sunny but windy weather conditions. Here are quotes from the archers shooting in the team bronze and gold finals.   Recurve Men   IM Dong Hyun (KOR) – Team Gold Medal This is a happy moment for the three of us. This final has been very windy and our coach told us not to change the settings of our sights. I think he was right, I mean we just had to focus on what we usually do. The rest doesn’t matter. This place is awesome, much better than last year. We had a real pleasure to shoot here.   Jayanta TALUKDAR (IND) – Team Silver Medal We are a bit disappointed; I think we could have shot around 225 points. The wind was very hard to manage, but we tried to hang the yellow ring as much as we could. This beach is a great place. Every World Cup final field is great as well.   CHENG Chu Sian (MAS) – Team Bronze Medal Last year we took a silver medal here and the bronze medal in Boe, France. This is a great satisfaction for our team but we are less satisfied with what we did in the individual competition. So we have to keep training for both!   Michael NARAY (AUS) – Team fourth place We did some tens but not enough apparently! The wind was a bit tricky but our coach told us to shoot quickly and to keep being concentrated at each arrows.   Compound Men   Kevin TATARYN (CAN) – Team Bronze Medal I shot fairly, doing my best for Dietmar and Nathan. We performed very well, even if this wind was inconsistent for all of us, even our opponents. At least, this bronze medal is a good thing; we really enjoyed what we did.   Compound Women   Fiona HYDE (AUS) – Team Bronze Medal We all feel ecstatic! When we knew we had to make a seven to win on the last arrow; I felt relief, I mean just aiming and letting go. This was our first time for a bronze medal… we hope to do the same performance in Shanghai then at the world championships in Ulsan, Korea.   Jean-Denis GITTON FITA Communication
