The Archery semifinals at the World Games 2009 Kaohsiung took place as of 12 noon local time in Chengching Lake. The barebow shot first, followed by recurve and compound.

This morning the first target was crucial. WUNDERLE took the lead there 13-9 and continued with 27-23. He increased his lead in the third, 44-35 and clinched it 56-47!

A clash of the titans. The World Games defending champion against the current the world champion. These two have shared the world titles since 2000! FRANGILLI had 3 and ROHRBERG, 2. The Italian had the best start this morning, taking the advantage on the first two targets, 12-10, 27-24. A clash of the titans. The Italian had the best start this morning, taking the advantage on the first two targets, 12-10, 27-24. FRANGILLI still led after three targets, but ROHRBERG shot a perfect 6-6-6 to tie the match at the very end, 55-55! The first arrow of the shoot-off was 4 for both archers! In the second arrow FRANGILLI had another 4, while ROHRBERG could not do better than 1. FRANGILLI goes to another final!!

FERRIOU had a miss on the first target. The Olympian FOLKARD took advantage of it, 13-8 then 26-21. However, the winner of the 2001 World Games came back really strong. Two ends of 6-6-4 and 6-4-4 gave her the victory, 51-48!

Similar as the other semifinal, ENTHOVEN had the best start, 16-13, but WILLEMS came back in the second end, 29-30. Similarity continued. The score was tied at 43-43 after three and then ENTHOVEN had 6-6-5 to win 60-56.

A miss from OTTOSSON in the second target was costly for him. SEIMANDI led 25-18. Both archers were almost equal on the last two targets, so the Italian won 53-45.

A very tight match between these two archers, 26-25 after two targets for the Italian. CASSIANI still led after three targets, 40-38. However the Finnish athlete had a wonderful finish! With 6-5-5 he reversed the situation and won 54-52!

Excellent start for ROBINSON (16-10) but STROBBE caught up all her deficit with the second target (15-9)! Tied score at 25-25. Then the no.1 Italian was stronger with two ends of 13, compared to of 9 for the American. Victory for STROBBE 51-43!

GAUTHE has a miss in the first target and JENTGES took a 3-point lead, 9-6. Then they both had 11 points in the second target, and the German led 20-17. Then she led 31-28. However, a miss and 1 from the German in the last target completely reversed the situation. GAUTHE won 38-35!
