Dos Santos shoots 1403 at Pan American Championships Valencia (VEN) – 9 July 2008   The Brazilian Roberval Dos Santos photo shot a wonderful 1403 in Men Compound qualifications of the Pan American Championships that are being held in Valencia, Venezuela. Dos Santos, winner of the bronze medal at the World Cup Final in Dubai last year, defeated Dubai’s gold medallist Jorge Jimenez (ESA) by ten points (1393). Ruben Ochoa from Mexico ranked third with 1379 points.    Mexico’s Linda Ochoa overwhelmed all her opponents in the women’s compound category with an outstanding 1397, just three points short of the 1400 milestone.  Two Venezuelans trailed Ochoa: Andrea Sudano and the gold medallist at the World Cup Stage 4 in Boe, France, Luzmary Guedez, both at 1366 pts.   In the recurve division, in which six of the archers present will soon shoot in the Beijing Olympics, the leaders in the female FITA round were Olympians Natalia Sanchez (COL) with 1308 pts, Leydis Brito (VEN) with 1299 and Ana Maria Rendon (COL) with 1287. Manuel Diaz (VEN) with 1286 pts, Juan Carlos Stevens (CUB) with 1284 and Fabio Emilio (BRA) with 1263 led in Recurve Men.   These championships will conclude on Friday 11 July.    Sergio Font FITA Communication
