World Archery Championships – Quotes of the Compound Eliminations

Today in Ulsan (KOR) was the compound eliminations at the 2009 World Archery Championships. Read some quotes from the competitors.
Stephen CLIFTON (NZL) and Paul TITSCHER (GER)
Compound Men
Reo WILDE (USA) I knew it was a tough draw. I know pretty much all these guys, I have been shooting against them for many years. I was a little nervous because I have never won an individual outdoor title. This is pretty much the only thing missing on my resume.
Today went well. I did not win any blow up but I managed to consistently stay a couple of points above my opponents. I was feeling good.
It’s a great tournament. The stadium is awesome and all the athletes here are top class. The level keep raising and it is no surprise that the world records are falling one after the others.
Stephen CLIFTON (NZL) It was very stressful. I have put a lot of hard work this year, a lot of hours and today it paid off!
The wind was changing from some part of the field to the others. I was happy to leave target 17 go to the 30s range. It went well there.
I wanted to avoid the Americans archers but now I have no choice than to play Reo in the semifinal. I will shoot the best I can and whatever happens, happens.
Paul TITSCHER (GER) I am both disappointed and happy. Disappointed, because I think I was a bit unlucky with the wind on my shoot-off arrow in the quarterfinals.
Otherwise I am very happy with the way I shot. This 6th place is my top finish at a elite world championships.
Liam GRIMWOOD (GBR) How was today’s shooting? I enjoyed it! It was good! I think my shooting was good!
What do you think about the Ulsan World Championships? I’ve come here in Korea two years ago at the World Cup. The stadium in Ulsan is much better than what we have home. The field is so nice and the scenery is not bad either. I love it!
What is your goal in this championship? To win!      Laura LONGO (ITA)
Compound Women   Albina LOGINOVA (RUS) How was today’s shooting? It was easy for me to shoot today, I was very calm. I managed to score 60 against ANSCHUTZ for a total of 119. It is my personal best in an international competition and I’m very happy! I was not nervous, but I’ll probably be more nervous the day of the finals! I would have preferred to shoot the semifinals today. When I shoot that well I want to go on and on!
You will shoot against Camilla SOEMOD (DEN) in the semifinal. I have already shot against Camilla in the semifinal at the Shanghai World Cup event in August and I lost.
Camilla SOEMOD (DEN) How were today’s matches? I'm really happy with the result I achieved. It was great to win at the Shanghai World Cup and to gain access to semifinals in the World Championships all in a row. I didn’t expect this kind of result.
How do you feel about the World Cup Final in Copenhagen? It's really great to have finals in my own country... and to compete in them. I’m really looking forward to this event!
Jorina COETZEE (RSA) How was today’s shooting? It was good and also tough. It was one of the best matches that I have played. I think it’s been good.
You did well. How were you feeling? It was hard to play today. Everyone wants to be a winner in any championship, but it’s important to focus on the arrows at every moment.
What is your goal? At first, I wanted to be in the top eight. Also I try to shoot scores as high as possible.
Laura LONGO (ITA) How was your day? It was very busy! Unfortunately I have a shoulder problem and I am sure I could have done much better. However my day was a success and I gave the best of my capacities.
What is your feeling for the coming days? I am very positive about the coming days and I will give my best for the competitions. I have many trials coming: mixed team and team finals. I have trained a lot and I really believe that I will be successful in this
