Quotes of the Team Eliminations

Today in Ulsan (KOR) was the team elimination matches day at the 2009 World Archery Championships. Here are some quotes from the competitors.
Recurve Women
Sayami MATSUSHITA (JPN) How was your shooting today? My arms were shaking because I was afraid Asako MATSUNAGA was running out of time, but she managed it! She was great!
What are you feelings about tomorrow's final match versus Korea? We know that the whole crowd will cheer for the Koreans, but never mind: we will imagine that all these supporters will be for us.
What were your expectations for these Championships? To be in the gold medal match against Korea, of course! (She smiles.)
Asako MATSUNAGA (JPN) How was your shooting today? In the semifinal match I shot the last arrow at the very last second. I was afraid not to be in time, but fortunately I was.
What are you feelings about tomorrow's final versus Korea? Since we have made it all the way to the final, we will do our best in order to get the last match, too.
Miki KANIE (JPN) How was your competition today? We enjoyed it a lot! It was really a good day for shooting.
How do you feel about tomorrow's gold medal match versus Korea? It was a long path from the 14th position in the qualification rounds up to the gold medal final, I will enjoy this match a lot!
JOO Hyun-Jung (KOR) How do you feel about shooting for the gold medal tomorrow? In the quarterfinals today, our opponents were shooting relatively well. So, at that moment I was a little bit nervous. But we tried to focus on getting higher scores. Finally in the end, we grabbed that opportunity.
What do you expect for the remaining matches? I will put all my efforts into winning the gold medal, I really want to win. My main goal is to have a gold medal.
Recurve Men
Romain GIROUILLE (FRA) We are very happy about our qualification for the gold medal final! We did great matches today. We have been shooting together as a team for two years and we all know each other well. We are going to take a good rest in the afternoon and prepare for tomorrow’s final. We will try to shoot well and enjoy the competition.
Compound Men
Anton KHLYSCHENKO (RUS) This is a great emotion for our team! It’s the first time that the Russian men’s compound team qualifies for a World Championships gold medal final. The competition was very tough today, but all three of us managed to shoot consistently. It’s only the second time that we shoot together as a team. We started at the World Cup event in Shanghai, where we lost in the semifinals and placed 4th. This time we made it to the finals and are very happy!
Compound Women
Albina LOGINOVA (RUS) This is the best feeling ever! I was expecting to qualify for the finals individually, because I am in great shape. I’m very happy with how our team shot today. The girls were solid. I’m also very happy for our men’s team who qualified for the final for the first time at this level! As for our women’s team final, we will shoot against Korea who is competing on home ground. Everybody will be cheering them on, but we’ll see!
Ekaterina KOROBEYNIKOVA (RUS) How do you feel about being one of the youngest archers competing here at 16? I am a little nervous, but it is not my first competition at the senior level. I am getting used to it and performing better and better. I like the shooting experience here. Even though it is very windy, I still managed to shoot some 10s!
SEO Jung-Hee (KOR) How do you feel about qualifying for the final? We made it to the final, so the next part of the competition is the most important. We hope to finish in a good way and win the gold medal.
It is your first chance of medal in compound. How do you feel about it? We have competed in other tournaments, but we didn’t qualify for any final. However, we have prepared a lot for the team match and we could do well tomorrow. Russia is a strong power in archery, but we are confident.
How were the weather conditions today? The wind didn’t blow on one side, but on both, making it more difficult to shoot. However our shots were better than we expected and we achieved a great result.
KWON Oh Hyang (KOR) How do you feel about qualifying for the final? Our main goal is to win, so we are going to prepare well this afternoon for tomorrow’s match.
