FITA has currently an opening for the position of

 

Development & Coaching Coordinator

 

Full-time permanent position with a 3 month probationary period based at FITA Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, starting 1 July 2006

 

The Development & Coaching coordinator will report to the FITA Development & Education Director. He/She will assist him in archery Development worldwide and Coaching Education.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

Must be an energetic and self-starting person, who can work well with or without daily supervision. Will have to display initiative and creativity. Must be able to develop/propose development projects or plans.

 

Be able to work with a wide range of people:  FITA employees in and out of the office, archery volunteers and paid people worldwide at all levels from club to world, school teachers, youth workers, senior government officials, local and national politicians, staff and officers from National Olympic Committees, National Sport Governing Bodies, and International Organizations.

 

Respect and deal with the various cultures and values of people to work with.

 

Have excellent oral and written communications skills in English.  Have good oral and written communications skills in French (or commit to get this level within 6 months). Any other languages will be a bonus.

 

Must be willing and able to travel on request.

 

Must be goal oriented (goals set by FITA policies and plans).

 

Have good administrative and organizational skills. Be computer literate (e-mail is the major method of communication).

 

Be knowledgeable and have experience in the sport of archery, preferably as a coach.

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

 

Coaching

 

Overall:                   Assist the FITA Coaches Committee in defining a strategy in coaching education in relation with the FITA Strategic plan and objectives.

Education:               Development and updating of curriculum’s and teaching “tools” (for instance a coaching and technical E-library; also an E-training assistance) for various environment:  Clubs, schools, National teams….

Employment:           Facilitate coaches hiring by doing the link between potential employers and coaches.

Database:               Collect and update profiles

Scholarship:            Advertise the opportunities, assist the applications and monitor the implementation.

Relations:                On-going encouragement, information and assistance.

Training Centres:     Identify the existing ones and complete the network.

Seminar & course:   Preparation and Coordination.

Committee:             On-going assistance.  Preparation and Coordination of the FITA Coaches Committee meetings and of other Coaching related meetings

FITA coaching staff: Assist to hiring process and to staff management (directives, work, employment contract, operation budget…)

Beginners Awards:   Update related documents.

 

 

Continental Unions

 

Plans:                     Assistance in plans making and their monitoring.

Budget:                  Assistance in budget application.

Meeting:                 Preparation and Coordination.

Communication:      On-going encouragement, information and assistance.

 

 

Development and Technical Assistance

 

Overall:                   Defining a strategy in archery development worldwide in relation with the FITA Strategic plan and objectives.

Meeting:                 Preparation and Coordination of Development related meetings

Request of assistance:Deal with the requests from the FITA Member Associations (MAs)   and eventually other organisations.

Courses & projects:  Advertise the opportunities. Assist the applications. Manage &/or approve the expert appointment. Monitor the implementation, control the report process and expenses versus approved budget. Record the implemented project.

OS Courses:            same as above.

Olympic Solidarity:  Advertise the OS programs among the FITA Member Associations.  On-going collaboration with the OS staff.

Development staff:  Assist to hiring process and staff management (directives, work, employment contract, operation budget…) for the FITA Development staff

Equipment:             Evaluate yearly needs. Negotiate donation.  Ordering.  Shipping (find cheap shipping process). Inventory maintenance.  Update and advertise donation criteria.  Review of the applications.

Complete improve and update the “Make your archery equipment yourself” program.

Promotion                Collaborate with FITA Media people.

Potential New MAs:  Identification and database maintenance.  Use of opportunities. Investigation on candidates. Assistance in starting and organising archery. Help to FITA membership application.  Ensure a follow-up.

Temporary MAs:       Follow-up of their setting and growth.  Monitor the FITA procedure to full membership.

 

Youth:                     On-going assistance.  Preparation and Coordination of the FITA Youth Development Committee meetings and other Youth related meetings. Contacts with International Youth and Sport School Organisations.

Communication:      On-going encouragement, information and assistance.

 

 

Day to day operations and office related activities

 

Feed FITA publications and website with information

 

Provide progress reports on activities and achievements of goals.

 

Provide on-going encouragement, information and assistance to the general public and MAs.

 

Participate to various office operations (filing, etc…)

 

Any specific task assigned by the FITA Development & Education Director.
