Call for 2007 FITA Development Agent for Oceania Lausanne – 18 December 2006   FITA Development and Education Department is looking for a Consultant, who will be in charge of Developing Archery in Oceania during 2007.   The successful candidate has to be based in one of the countries of Oceania; and be (temporary) based in a country of a new FITA Member Association (MA).   The Development Agent 2007 for Oceania shall work on the development of archery, based on the FITA objectives and according to the specific development plan for this region, as well as to the FITA’s development guidelines issued each year. Travelling to selected countries will be part of the job and maybe depending on case by case needs most remain in the countries up to 2 months.   There is a lot of information available about the true state of Archery in each of the MA’s of Oceania, and the current Development Agent 2005/2006 is available for supporting the new Development Agent to get starting/continuing the Development Agent - 2007 Project.   Title: FITA Development Agent for Oceania Reporting to: FITA Development and Education Director Start date: 1st April 2007   MISSION AND RESPONSABILITIES   Ø       Fully support the FITA policy in raising the level of Archery in all the MAs within Oceania; Ø       Organise that each FITA MAs has an actual and written development plan; Ø       Fulfill coaching visits of several weeks to new Member Associations; Ø       Organize bipartite cooperation between neighbour countries, including mentorship ; Ø       Encourage and support the existing MAs without permanent archery field to obtain their own venue; Ø       Encourage and support the existing MAs with less than 20 archers to extend the number of archers substantially, based on their development plan and organisational readiness; Ø       Encourage and support the existing MAs with little or no archery activity to give archery a new starting; Ø       Work in close cooperation with and under supervision of the FITA’s Technical and Education Director; at least a weekly Internet contact is needed to have an efficient feed-back; Ø       Be a liaison between FITA and OAC and maintain an information network that guaranties objective fact-finding. In addition should be able to work in harmony with the executive of OAC and be able to weigh information provided by MAs against existing FITA reports; Ø       Support MAs in maintaining a working sport administration and strength the sport infrastructure of the MAs in Oceania; Ø       Report to FITA and ONOC on a monthly base;   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE   Ø       University degree or equivalent work experience; preferably in sport management; Ø       Experienced archery coach, preferable of level 2; Ø       Capable of critical reading Constitutions; Ø       Familiarity with project management; Ø       Experience in an international environment; Ø       Fluent in English and conversational French, 80% of the MA’s are from English speaking countries, 20% is French speaking; Ø       PROFILE Ø       Excellent communication and organizational skills; Ø       Diplomacy, tact and discretion; Ø       Independence, excellent sense of organization and priorities; Ø       Ability to work in team, in the management of the influx of communicating with colleagues; Ø       Flexible approach and ability to handle unforeseen events; Ø       Very good negotiation skills; Ø       Keen sense of confidentiality; Ø       Availability and flexibility in working hours and traveling; Ø       Great interests in Archery and its Development   Contact: Pascal Colmaire, pcolmaire@archery.org Deadline: 22 January 2007 deadline extended to 31 January 2007
