Recurve Women
Semi-final: ZHANG Juan Juan (CHN) - YUN Ok Hee (KOR)
As her teammate in the other semi-final match, the Korean trailed in the first end by 3 pts with 27-24. The Chinese increased her lead in the second end as she shot a perfect end, while her opponent 9-9-8. At this point, the Chinese has 7 pts advantage (57-50), which seemed unrecoverable. She relaxed in the third end and only scored 82 pts, but her opponent was coming back slowly, to score 79 pts. The fourth end decided it all, and surprisingly the Korean overtook the Chinese, as Yun shot 28 pts against 23 for Zhang, summing up 105-107 pts. The Gold Final will be totally Korean, as the Bronze Final will be totally Chinese!
Semi-final: PARK Sung-Hyun (KOR) - ZHAO Ling (CHN)
Park was trailing as of the first arrow, as she started with a 7 (26-29). Park recovered one point in the second end as the intermediary score was 53-55. The three 9s of the Chinese archer in the third end allowed the Korean to tie the score at 82 pts, as she shot 9-10-10. Bad luck for the Chinese, who was well ahead in the beginning of the match; she was hit by the Korean dominance, as Park shot a perfect end (X10-X10-10), and Zhao could only manage X10-9-8, making the final score 112-109 in favour of Park.
Quarter-final: ZHANG Juan Juan (CHN) - JOO Hyun Jung (KOR)
This Asian match was quite tight too. Zhang started with one point advantage as she scored 27-26. The Korean recovered in the second end as she shot 10-10-7, while Zhang 9-8-9 (53-53). The Chinese got her act together once more to overtake the Korean by one point (82-81). Both archers shot 27 pts in the last end, which made Zhang keep the advantage she managed got in the previous end. Zhang goes to semis with a final score of 109-108.
Quarter-final: NICHOLS Jennifer (USA) - ZHAO Ling (CHN)
Nichols had a good start as she was 2 pts ahead of her opponent in the first end with 28-26. She kept the same lead in the second end with 56-54. In the third end, Nichols shot a 7 which made her lose her advantage and trail by one point with 82-83. She could finally not recover and gave victory to her Chinese opponent with a final score of 109-110.
3rd round: MOSPINEK Justyna (POL) - NICHOLS Jennifer (USA)
Nichols started well with X10-10-X10-10-9-9 (58). Mospinek was also good, but one point behind the American with 57. Mospinek must have had a small problem in the second end, as she shot a 7, which made her trail even more and lose the match by 3 pts. Final score: 109-112 for Nichols.

Will this be enough for Justyna to keep her place in the World Cup Final?
3rd round: PARK Sung-Hyun (KOR) - HAYAKAWA Nami (JPN)
The first end was tied at 54 pts on each side. All was decided in the second end, as Hayakawa shot an 8 as last arrow which gave victory to the Korean, again, with 111-107 pts. It seems Park wants Gold!
2nd round: HURKMANS Coby (NED) - MARCINKIEWICZ Iwona (POL)
The first end was hit by wind, as we note the following arrow-values: 9-10-5-7-9-9 for Hurkmans and 10-8-X10-7-7-7, both scoring 49 pts. The wind dropped for the second end, but Hurkmans shot a 6 that made her lose the match with a final score of 98-101.
2nd round: ZHANG Juan Juan (CHN) - STRUYF Sabrina (BEL)
Zhang really seems ready for the upcoming Olympics that will be held in her country. She started the match strongly with 56 pts (9-9-X10-9-9-X10), while her opponent had too much pressure and shot two low arrows (6 and 7). The intermediary score was 56-49. Struyf could not handle it and shot a 4 to lose the match and shoota final score of 112-95.
1st round: STRUYF Sabrina (BEL) - ROMAN Aida (MEX)
Struyf started the match ahead, although she shot a 6 on her 4th arrow with 51-49. Roman tried to come back on 8-9-8-10-8-8, but Struyf shot a better second end with 9-9-9-8-8-8 which allowed her to clinch the match with a final score of 102-100.

Struyf quoted: I was not the favorite of the match, but I shot well and had a good feeling. Next match is against the Chinese Zhang Juan Juan, I will just do my best and see how she shoots!
1st round: BEAUDET Marie-Pier (CAN) - BOONEN Femke (NED)
Beaudet started the match ahead with 3 pts advance over the Dutch archer with 56-53. Boonen started the second end with a 7 which she could not recover and finally lost the match by 4 pts 110-106.

  Compound Men
Semi-final: COGHLAN Patrick (AUS) - DAMSBO Martin (DEN)
Damsbo opened his match trailing by one point as the scores were 27-26. A perfect second end for the Australian made him increase his advantage to 57-55. He managed to keep it up to the end, to finally go for Gold against Tataryn on Saturday, with a final score of 116-114. Also, Coghlan is now sure to be in the World Cup Final in Lausanne!

Damsbo will shoot for Bronze against Hofer, who is confirmed to shoot in the World Cup Final in Lausanne too!
Semi-final: TATARYN Kevin (CAN) - HOFER Patrizio (SUI)
Hofer had a bad start in the semi-final match against the Canadian Tataryn, scoring 9-8-10, while Tataryn managed to shoot 9-X10-X10 (29-27). Hofer tried to recover all along the match, but it was not enough against Tataryn's advantage. The Canadian will finally shoot for Gold on Saturday against Coghlan, with a final score of 117-116.
Quarter-final: BRASSEUR Sebastien (FRA) - DAMSBO Martin (DEN)
What a great match for the young Dannish archer! He scored three perfect ends to start, but a nine on his last end made him score 119 pts out of a possible 120. He obviously won the match, as Brasseur only scored 116 pts.
Quarter-final: GENET Dominique (FRA) - COGHLAN Patrick (AUS)
First end was tied at 29 pts on each side. Coghlan took a one point advantage in the second end to score 57-58. Genet tied again the match at 85 pts, as he shot X10-9-9, while Coghlan only shoot 9-9-9. Genet was good with 10-10 but with the final arrow an 8, gave the opportunity to Coghlan to tie, what he did, with 9-9-10 (113-113). Coghlan shot a 9 in the shoot-off, but Genet could only manage an 8 which offered victory to the Australian.
Quarter-final: PAGNI Sergio (ITA) - HOFER Patrizio (SUI)
Hofer seems in a very good shape in this competition, as he scores very good ends. In this match, he took the lead from the first end, and never let it go. He needed to win this match to qualify for the World Cup Final, and he managed to do so with the following scores : 28-29, 56-59, 83-87, 111-114.
3rd round: SITAR Dejan (SLO) - COGHLAN Patrick (AUS)
This was a very close match! First end gave the advantage to the 2001 World Champion Sitar with 58-57. The Slovenian was lucky that his liner 8 became a 9, so he could tie the match, as the Australian shot 58 pts in his second end to even the score at 115 pts each. Unfortunately for Dejan, his 9 was not enough for Coughlan's 10. So Patrick goes on!
3rd round: GATTO Steven (USA) - HOFER Patrizio (SUI)
Hofer started the match well ahead with an almost perfect end of 59 pts, against 56 for Gatto. The experience of the Swiss archer paid well, since another 59 pts-end was scored and he could easily clinch the match with a final score of 118-111.

3rd round: PAGNI Sergio (ITA) - DOS SANTOS Roberval (BRA)
Dos Santos started the match badly with a 7 on his sixth arrow, scoring 53 pts, as Pagni managed to score 57 pts. The Brazilian did all he could to come back again with a good second end, but it was not enough, as the Italian won the match 114-111.
2nd round: HERNANDEZ Gary (VEN) - COGHLAN Patrick (AUS)
Although Coghlan started with an 8, followed by 9-9-9-10-10 (55), the six 9s of the Venezuelan archer were not enough to tie, with 54 pts. Coghlan continued to increase the gap with a good second end and finally won the match with 107-111.
2nd round: ELZINGA Peter (NED) - SCHIAVO Mark (USA)
The Dutch archer Elzinga went ahead in the match with 57 pts, while Schiavo only scored 55, shooting an 8 with his 6th arrow. Two other 8s in the second end for the American made him lose all hope and he lost the match with a final score of 115-111.
1st round: SCHIAVO Mark (USA) - KYRITSOGLOU Sam (BEL)
The American started the match ahead on 57-56. Both archers shot exactly the same second end, which made the American win the match 113-112.
1st round: ZAVOLI Giuseppe (SMR) - CHEPIK Dmitri (RUS)
Chepik started the match with a one point advantage over his opponent, scoring 54-55. Zavoli managed to come back and tie the score at 109 pts. The only tie-break of the first round gave victory to the Russian with a 10, while Zavoli only scored a 7.
