World Cup Stage 4 – Quotes of the Day 3

Recurve Men
Daniel Morillo (ESP) – best loser of Quarterfinals winning an Olympic spot I still can’t believe it, I am so happy. It’s been a long time I was searching for this moment and now I finally achieved it! I have been training for four years with my Spanish coach, with who I was doing well. Now we have a Korean coach since one year, in addition to the Spanish one, and I continue improving my shooting too. It feels just great. Thank you every one!
Matti Hatava (FIN) – winning Olympic qualifications I just realised my dream to participate in the Olympic Games! I would never have thought to get this far and even less winning the Qualification competition. It feels just great! Also, this is my first international competition of the year. I had to stop one year because of my studies. My federation decided to send a few archers to try to get a spot, without many hopes, and we finally achieved it, it is amazing! It is just a pity for the World Cup since I could not get very far in that competition, but I am happy with this place.
Nuno Pombo (POR) – winning Olympic qualifications I feel good. I tried to concentrate arrow by arrow, not thinking on a specific match or on the whole match and it worked out well. Also, it has been six months we have a new Korean coach and I must say I have improved a lot with him.
Andreas Milan (CZE) - winning Olympic qualifications This place came by itself; I was only shooting my best. I was losing after the first three arrows of the quarterfinal match and now I'm going to Beijing. It's an unbelievable experience, I'm so happy!

Recurve Women
Anja Hitzler (GER) – winning Olympic qualifications I am so happy!! I was feeling well during the training but when the matches first started I was shaking all over. I was nervous with my first couple of matches and I survived a shoot-off. Then I got a bit of momentum and I shot really well during the decisive quarter-final, scoring 110 pts. Then I actually kept shooting well to win the tournament this morning. However, the most important is that Olympic qualifications. Normally my NOC should accept the place because I have ranked 8th and 9th during World Cup stages during the past two years.
I will talk to my coach to put together the best preparations possible until the Games. We will decide if I go to the University Championships in Chinese Taipei beginning of July or if I stay home to train.
Nathalie Dielen (SUI) - winning Olympic qualifications I am very happy! I fought very hard. I had a little luck in my 1st round match. I was too much stressed at the beginning. I was focusing too much on the points and not enough on my technique. However, I could settle down and I believe I shot well for all the rest of the competition.
Now I have filled in all the selection criteria and I hope my NOC will send me to the Games. I have worked very hard to get there. This afternoon I will support the men’s team and hope one of them will qualify as well.
Mousikou Elena (CYP) - winning Olympic qualifications I'm still crying... I still cannot believe I'll go to Beijing! I don't realize what I did. When my coach told me in my back that I won the match it was a dream come true.
Abtin Najmeh (IRI) - after quarter finals, winning Olympic qualifications I wasn't shooting this last ten, it was God. I was just thinking how to do my best. I know it was too important to win this match but I had not to think about it... It wasn't easy.
I have to thank all the great group of supporters I have; they trusted in me even while I was loosing.
Abtin Najmeh (IRI) - after 3rd round This game was really nice. I was loosing at the half way mark and then I won by 1. I've another match now, so let's concentrate on it; you know only five people goes to Olympic.
Jeppsson Jenny (SWE) I was a little nervous, fortunately not tired at all even with this hot weather. I missed the release and I shoot a “one”, that's all. I was shooting well all the morning long and an accident can happen, unfortunately it happened in the wrong match.

VIP
Mario Scarzella – EMAU President As EMAU President I'm very proud to have such a high quality archers in my federation. They showed in this occasion that they are able to reach the best result all over the world: 9 spots out of 10 that were available go to an EMAU member association.
