Quotes of the Day 2

  1.    If you were here last year, what special memories did you keep from it? 2.    Do you prefer shooting FITA Round or match-plays? 3.    What do you think about the new Mixed Team event?   Compound Men   Roberval DOS SANTOS (BRA) – Receiving a 1400 FITA Star for the performance he achieved in July 2008 photo right It’s a dream come true! I am really pleased. I’ve been waiting for this all my life. It is also good for my country, where we do not have anyone ever having achieved this score. I am also happy because since I shot my first 1400 score in July 2008 I have shot four other 1400s!   1.    I specially remember the rain, but also the warm people and the beautiful beaches. 2.    I prefer the FITA Round because you have a chance to compensate any bad shot, as you have more arrows to shoot. 3.    It’s an additional chance to compete. It’s just a shame that only the best four go on. It should be the best eight, I think. But it’s a really good initiative!   Jorge JIMENEZ (ESA) 1.    The heat, the very beautiful Fortaleza Ozama, where the finals where shot and the very nice and friendly people. 2.    I prefer the matches because there is more adrenaline! 3.    It’s a really good idea. Actually, I don’t believe it is a real mixed team as it is now. It would be a mixed team if we had recurve and compound mixed.                                                              Shaun TEASDALE (NZL) I am not happy with my shooting today, don’t know what happened.   1.    I wasn’t here last year… 2.    Matches for sure, it it’s more interesting, you get more pressure.                                                              Peter ELZINGA (NED) I am really satisfied with my shooting today.   1.    I remember very good organisation from last year, as well as the venue of the finals, despite the strong wind. 2.    Matches, because that’s what you are here for. FITA Round is good to shoot although I would prefer the 70m Round. In the FITA Round, the ranking does not change much after the 70m/half of 50m… 3.    I like that very much! I look forward to taking part in that event next time we have the ladies shooting.   Compound Women   Luzmary GUEDEZ (VEN) photo right 1.    The rain! Because that’s what counts. However, one bad arrow and you are done. 3.    It’s cool! But it will be a tough competition because there are many excellent male and female archers from the same country.   Amandine BOUILLOT (FRA) Nothing really happened… I just didn’t prepare myself enough, this is the first outdoor event of the year and I am still running in, still not ready…   1.    I remember the finals in the Fort and me winning the bronze medal in that beautiful landscape, although it was very windy. 2.    Matches, because it is shorter and you have that thing in the matches that you cannot find in the qualifications, and you just have to give the best of yourself. 3.    It is a very good thing that may boost the archers a bit. It is also good for the development of archery.   Chantal STEINER FITA Communication
