8 June 2010 - New Cadet World Records by Nicklas FRIESE (DEN)

New Cadet World Records by Nicklas FRIESE (DEN) Lausanne - 8 June 2010   Nicklas FRIESE (DEN) broke the Cadet FITA Round and the 50m world records last week during a national tournament in Denmark. With 1402 points, he beat the 1401 mark set by the famous Braden GELLENTHIEN (USA) in 2001.   The 17-year-old Nicklas FRIESE scored 348 points at 70m, 346 at 60m (European record), 352 at 50m (world record) and 356 at 30m. A super performance that makes him the new Cadet FITA Round world record holder with a total of 1402 points out of his 144 arrows. At the last World Archery Youth Championships in Ogden last year, FRIESE was 1st in the qualification with 1387 points. He finished at the 13th place.   Previously, the 50m world record was hold jointly by Braden GELLENTHIEN and David ROTH (USA) since 2002 with 348 points. Both still also hold, together with Thoma NEALY, the Cadet Team FITA Round world record. Moreover, GELLENTHIEN has three world records in the junior age group and two in the elite. His perfect score of 120 points with eight X10s in a match during the World Cup Final last year in Copenhagen should never be broken. He was the indoor individual and team world champion in Izmir in 2007 and he is the running four times outdoor team world champion in 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009! GELLENTHIEN competes this week at the Antalya World Cup.   Let’s wish FRIESE the same kind of career!   World Archery Communication
