ELLISON on top of World Cup and Longines Prize for Precision rankings

World Cup Ranking In recurve men, Brady ELLISON (USA) has a comfortable lead over his pursuers. ELLISON has 43 points, ahead of JING Xiangqing (CHN), 25 points, Simon TERRY (GBR), 23, Victor WUNDERLE (USA) and Michelle FRANGILLI (ITA), both 21 points. While ELLISON can pretty much book his tickets for Edinburgh, the others should need another good result to get there.   The situation is tighter on the recurve women’s side. Thanks to her consistency, GUO Faping (CHN) has 26 points, one ahead of Sabrina STRUYF (BEL) and Victorya KOVAL (UKR). Elena KUZNETSOVA (BLR) and Inna STEPANOVA (RUS) have 21 points.   Martin DAMSBO (DEN) has a good lead in compound men. He has 40 points, ahead of Braden GELLENTHIEN (USA), 26, Sam KYRTISOGLOU (BEL), 25, Vladas SIGAUSKAS (LTU), 23, and Sergio PAGNI (ITA), 21.   Three compound women have already made quasi-decisive progress in the World Cup Final qualification. Ashley WALLACE (CAN), 43 points, Nicky HUNT (GBR), 42, and Erika ANSCHUTZ (USA), 40. The race is wide open for the remaining spots.   In recurve mixed team, USA and China are two main contenders to go challenge the British team in Edinburgh. In compound, the two teams on top for now are Denmark and the USA.   All World Cup Ranking can be found here.   Longines Prize for Precision The Longines Prize for Precision in archery was launched in 2010. The two most precise archers of the World Cup season will win the trophy, a watch and a 5,000 Swiss Francs prize.   The recurve athletes will compete for the Prize in even-years, while the compound athletes will shoot for it in odd-years. In 2010, the recurve men and women athletes who shoot the most 10s during all individual qualifications and matches of the World Cup will win the prize. The race for the Longines Prize for Precision should go on until the very last match at the World Cup Final in Edinburgh.   It is no surprise that ELLISON is on top of the Longines Prize for Precision with 118 shots in the 10-ring. ELLISON also raises money for the “Cure of Breast Cancer” with each 10 he shoots (see our interview in Porec). FRANGILLI has 99, Baljinima TSYREMPILOV (RUS), 96, and WUNDERLE 90.   On the women's side, the leader of the World Cup is also on top the Longines Prize for Precision. However, the gap is closer than for the men. GUO had 72 hits in the 10, followed by Justyna MOSPINEK (POL), 69, Berengere SCHUH (FRA), 65, KUZNETSOVA (BLR), 63 and CHENG Ming (CHN), 62.   The complete Longines Prize for Precision ranking can be found here.   World Archery Communication
