OH and SABRY among 36 Archers to Benefit from OS Scholarship Programme

The programme is a unique opportunity for athletes to benefit from a technical and financial support from their NOC, Olympic Solidarity and World Archery.

The benefits include specialised training, access to high level sports facilities, renowned coach services, assistance for regular medical care, full board accommodation and travel subsidy to participate at continental and international competitions, training camps and Olympic qualifying events.

The scholarship remains conditional until the athlete has qualified for Rio 2016. As soon as qualification is obtained, the scholarship is confirmed until the Games.

During their training process, each athlete is eligible to a determined amount based on the training conditions – at home or training abroad in a specialised training archery centre.

The National Olympic Committees and Olympic Solidarity determine the training mode, while World Archery provides the technical support and specific features.

Continental training camps just before the continental championships will take place as follows:

  • 1-8 November 2015 - Asia
  • Feb/March 2016 - Oceania
  • TBD 2016 - Africa, America and Europe

Athletes and national federations who require further information on this specific programme can contact Mrs Deqa NIAMKEY, World Archery Development Senior Coordinator.
