9 September 2010 - Seven master world records during Italian competition

Seven master world records during Italian competition Olgiate Olona (ITA) – 9 September 2010 Eugenia SALVI (ITA) at Leipzig 2007 World Championships    Seven world records and eight European records were broken during a Triple FITA Event (1 double FITA Star + 1 FITA Star) organised on 4-5 September 2010 in Olgiate Olona (ITA). All records have been claimed in the master division by the same three Italian participants, Alvise BERTOLINI, Carla DI PASQUALE and Eugenia SALVI, former world indoor and outdoor champion.   The tournament in Olgiate Olona welcomed 79 participants Switzerland, Ireland, Great Britain, France and Ivory Coast. It was shot for the first time in Italy following new FITA distances for the master division. This, added to a beautiful weather and the presence of many top master Italian archers and of some top international competitors, generated a rain of records.   Eugenia SALVI (ITA), indoor and outdoor world champion in 2007, set three new world records in compound master women: 1411 points for the 144 Arrows FITA Round, 354 at 50m, and 352 at 40m.   Other world records were set by Carla DI PASQUALE (ITA) in recurve master women with 1307 for the FITA Round, 336 at 50m, and 327 at 40. The seventh world record was for Alvise BERTOLINI (ITA) in recurve master men with 1331 points in the FITA Round.   Thomas AUBERT (FRA), team silver medallist at the 2009 World Championships and 2008 European Championships, won the recurve men's competition.
