World Archery Webinar: “Why social media is a must”

What is a webinar? It is an interactive presentation using the Internet, therefore you can attend it from your office or at home and you will be able to ask your questions.   World Archery will offer timely, constructive advice on utilizing social media to market yourself (or your organisation) most effectively during the 2013 season. This webinar will give you all the latest insight on how to use Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms. How can you capitalize on the latest surges of popularity for archery.   The webinar will take place on 16 January, 15H00 GMT (to know your local time please consult www.greenwichmeantime.com)   Olympic bronze medallist Mariana AVITIA has nearly 50 000 followers on Twitter At the 2012 Olympic Games, archery was one of the most-watched sports, garnering one major network’s highest ratings for the first entire week of competition – more than men’s basketball or beach volleyball! Thanks to movies like “Brave” and “The Hunger Games,” and a fantastic London Games, archery is hot, and bound to stay that way, with three “Hunger Games” sequels arriving over the next three years.   With popularity comes a large audience, and people across the world are saying that archery is seeing more interest than ever. This is the very best time for federations AND athletes to capitalize on this increased excitement by engaging with fans on social media, and turning that interest into new members and competitors, as well as media attention and perhaps even sponsor dollars.   How would you feel if we told you that you could increase the following for your federation or for you as an athlete, by 20, 30 or 50 percent? For example, if you have 4,000 archery fans, what if we told you that an additional audience of 6,000 was possible? How about 10,000 or more?   What if you could reach reporters with a 140-character statement? Or broadcast news of your upcoming tournament to 5,000 extra people? Share photos of your best youth archers, or highlight the achievements of your Olympians and Paralympians? Share your journey at the World Archery Championships with fans? Inspire young archers across the world? Reach potential sponsors with interesting content that demonstrates that archery is a growing sport?   Register now at info@archery.org if interested in participating in this one-hour webinar. Please include your name, the name of your organisation (if applicable), street address and email address. Webinar link and registration confirmation will be emailed to you before 16 january.   World Archery Communication
