United States and Austria are the new world field team champions

ELLISON, BROADWATER and ROGERS comprised the American team. Expecting a very close match with France, it snowballed from the first target where USA set up three perfect 6s while the French trio couldn’t do better than three 4s.

“They tripped up and gave us an opening on that first target that none of us were expecting,” first-time world field team champ ELLISON said.

“They shot three 4s and Jesse started out with an inside-out 6 that we just followed up. It all rolled down from there.”

BROADWATER was the man… all his shots were 6: “It’s awesome to get the gold team medal with these guys. We had great shots and had a lot of fun in the field.”

“It’s easy to shoot good when you got the two world’s best shooting with you,” ROGERS added.

VALLADONT, BARET and ROY had mixed feelings: “We are feeling proud for the silver but it’s a big deception… They did great and went straight to the six’s,” Olivier ROY said.

His teammate VALLADONT has already moved on and looks forward to another gold match against the States, the individual with Brady: “I’m ready for tomorrow. Just bring it on…”

Italy beat the experienced Sweden team by 59-54 to the bronze medal.

Austrians Laurence BALDAUFF, Petra GOEBEL and Reingild LINHART beat Sweden 57-53. They couldn’t be more proud.

LINHART has already decided to put up an end to her career: “After many years of competition, this is our FIRST ever world team title. I’m retiring from archery and finishing career with a gold medal, shooting with wonderful ladies… it’s just amazing.”

Reingild and Petra shot their first team event 13 years ago: “I had one year break because of health problems so I’m very happy we finally made it,” Petra declared.

Great Britain and Italy shot a close match for the women’s bronze medal. FOLKARD, RAVENSCROFT and WILLIAMS won it by just one point difference, 52-51.

In the junior men’s team category, Great Britain claimed gold by beating the Italians by 57-53. Since early morning HUSTON said the group was “feeling confident.”

USA took junior men’s bronze by beating Sweden 54-45.
