Zahra Nemati named IPC’s Athlete of the Month

In a landslide victory, in which she accumulated 84 percent of the public vote, Zahra Nemati was named the IPC’s Allianz Athlete of the Month for November.

The London 2012 Paralympic Champion was nominated for the award after she qualified Iran places to both the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games at the Asian Championships in November.

She also collected the recurve women’s open Asian Champion title.

German alpine skier Anna-Lena Forster came second in the poll with seven percent, Ukrainian judoka Inna Cherniak third (three percent), followed by Ukrainian powerlifter Mariana Shevcuk (three percent), wheelchair dancing duo Rhea Marquez and Jun Julius Obero – from the Philippines – with two percent and USA wheelchair racer Tatyana McFadden (one percent).
