World Cup stage in Berlin named as host of final Olympic qualification tournament

Berlin, Germany has been named the host of the final qualification tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, extending its agreement to hold a stage of the Hyundai Archery World Cup by one year.

Antalya, Turkey hosted the final qualification tournament ahead of Rio 2016. It will organise the European Archery Championships, a continental qualification event for the Olympics, in 2020.

The Hyundai Archery World Cup circuit in 2020 is expected to consist of three stages and a final.

Two stages are now confirmed, in Shanghai and Berlin, with the location of the third and the final still to be announced.

The qualification period for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games officially begins with the 2019 World Archery Championships in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

The archery competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will begin on 24 July.
