Danish archer Nynne HOLDT-CASPERSEN happy to delay birthday party

Danish archer Nynne HOLDT-CASPERSEN's birthday celebrations have been put on hold as she prepares for the biggest competition of her career.   In the lead-up to the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, Nynne has been training for at least 25 hours a week.   On Monday, her 17th birthday, there was no let-up from her daily regimen, but she is more than happy to wait a couple of weeks to celebrate.   "This is what I like to do so it’s no problem for me," she said. "We’ll have a party when I get back."   Her coach, former Olympian Henrik TOFT (DEN), praised an excellent work ethic that has enabled her to compete at the Youth Olympic Games after only four years in the sport.   "She cycles from school to training every day," he said. "Her dad then brings her dinner, she eats and then trains more, then she goes home to do homework.”   With such a strong mental approach to the sport, TOFT believes she can progress further.   "She only started archery four years ago and now she is here. It will be interesting to see where she goes from here,” he said.   For HOLDT-CASPERSEN, there was one surprise waiting for her in her luggage.   "My mother put a present in my suitcase for me to open," she said.   YONS kt/ap/mr Edited by World Archery Communication
