The 2009 World Championships Silver Medallist and World Cup Final winner will be a favourite to win the gold medal in Singapore. 
What do these Youth Olympic Games mean to you? It’s a kind of a preparation on the way to the London Games, where I hope to compete. What brought you to archery? I started when I was in first grade because there was an archery team in my elementary school. The coach of this team found me and encouraged me to do archery. What do you like best about archery? I’m very, very happy when I shoot an arrow and it goes in the 10 ring. What is the hardest thing for you? Sometimes I shoot badly or the weather is too hot. This is the most difficult part for me. I have two very different ways to overcome this: one is to do nothing until the conditions get better, the other is to work a lot until it goes well again. What is the situation of archery in Korea? Archery is not that popular. But we have always had good results and a lot of medals in the last 20 years and because of that everyone expects us to win gold medals. Are you famous in your country? So-so. I’m not that famous, not yet (smile). How do you train? I train everyday for 3 hours in the morning, 4 hours in the afternoon and 1½ hours in the evening. So I shoot for about 8 hours, approximately 300-400 arrows everyday. Apart from that I also run and lift weights. You had a fantastic year 2009 with a victory at the World Cup Final and a silver medal at the World Championships. What did it change for you? I feel more confident after theses victories. Are you a professional archer? Not yet because I’m still in high school, but after graduation I will join a professional team. In the future I want to pursue both a professional career and college studies. What are your activities outside archery? I like to watch movies and listen to music.
