Egypt, Namibia and South Africa win Youth Olympic places at African qualifier
Archers from Egypt, South Africa and Namibia won quota places to the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in Argentina by making the final of the archery events at the 2018 African Youth Games in Algiers, Algeria.
Places won by an archer are assigned to their national governing body, who chooses whether that quota spot is accepted and, subsequently, which athlete will attend the Youth Olympic Games.
As well as qualifying two spots, Egypt also set a world record in Algiers.
The World Archery executive board introduced mixed team qualification records ahead of the Hyundai Archery World Cup stage in Berlin, Germany.
Competition concludes at the African Youth Games with the medal matches on 21 July.
The third edition of the Youth Olympic Games takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina in October 2018.
